Our Story

Island Park Coastal Community was built around neighborhood traditions that go back years, anchored by long-standing local events like the annual New Year's Day Polar Dive. Building on that foundation, neighbors came together to create even more reasons to gather outside, expanding into bi-annual seawall cleanups and the Sakonnet Coastal Bike & Stroll.

We created this site to give our Portsmouth community a single, easy place to see what's happening in the neighborhood. Whether you're plunging into the bay on New Year's Day, hopping on a bike along Park Ave or volunteering for a seawall cleanup, our events are always free, family-friendly and open to everyone!

Our mission is to celebrate Island Park's unique coastal character, honor our neighborhood traditions, support local businesses and keep our community fun, connected and vibrant for all ages.
